Lip Flip Using Injectables

This is a simple procedure involving the injection of botulinum injections (wrinkle smoothing injections) into the orbicularis muscle of the top lip. This muscle flattens the upper lip on smiling, so by relaxing the muscle you encourage the top lip to lift and flip outwards giving the appearance of a fuller lip with more pink (vermillion) showing.
The same muscle is also used to pout and pucker the lips and may create the vertical lip lines known as “smokers’ lines” over time. By relaxing this muscle in addition to the lip flip you also get a reduction of these lines with smoothing of both the top and bottom lips.
