Your anti-wrinkle injection FAQS, answered!

Say goodbye to wrinkles, fine lines and other signs of aging, with our anti-wrinkle injections ….

Anti-wrinkle injections are often referred to as the liquid facelift as they are an effective non-surgical and safe alternative than going under the knife.

At GMC Cosmedical in Sydney we believe that educating our patients is the key ingredient to successful outcomes of our cosmetic treatments. For this reason, we aim to answer all your questions during your initial consultation and prior to your appointment to help guide your decision making process. Below is a list of the most frequently asked questions when it comes to anti-wrinkle injections/ wrinkle smoothing injections.

How does it work?

Our anti-aging treatment uses several small injections that relax the facial muscles that cause expression lines. Once your facial muscles are relaxed they cannot contract, allowing wrinkles to forming.  Lines eventually begin to smooth out due to disuse and a smoother, more refined and youthful complexion is achieved.

Is it safe?

Yes. The solution injected is a safe muscle-relaxant, used by doctors around the world for over three decades and is one of the most studied and researched procedures showing no long-term side effects. These injections are performed with extreme precision by our fully medically-trained team who can help you gain a natural and youthful looking appearance, with minimal effect on your expression.

Am I a candidate for wrinkle smoothing injections?

Anti-Wrinkle Injections can be used both cosmetically to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and medically to prevent headaches. Wrinkle smoothing injections can help the following cosmetic problems: Crow’s Feet

  • Nasolabial folds
  • Frown Lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Forehead lines
  • Bunny lines on top of the nose
  • Puckering lines around the lips

For those who are looking to enhance their youthful appearance, many patients combine dermal filler treatment with their ant wrinkle injections. Dermal Fillers are products that are injected into the dermis (the deeper layer of the skin) to plump the skins volume, making it look more even and smoother. Common areas treated are around the mouth, cheeks, eyes, and brow.

A number of factors will be examined to determine your candidacy such as your medical history and the severity of the wrinkles and lines that you want to minimise.

How long does the treatment last?

Results can show within 2 – 3 days and can last up to 7 months.

How much do I need?

Anti-wrinkle injectables are measured in units to provide natural looking results. Depend on the area being treated; it is generally from 4 – 26 units per area.  Some cases may only require a small volume of the product, while others may require a much larger amount due to the strength of the muscle being treated. At your consultation we will examine your entire facial aesthetics and listen to your concerns to determine the amount required to achieve the results you are after.

Will it look natural?

When wrinkle smoothing injections are administered by a professional, the results can be highly desirable for many patients who want to smooth and soften lines and folds on their face.

At GMC Cosmedical our highly experienced physicians are trained and experienced to provide the highest level of service in a caring and compassionate environment.
