Skin Peels

The Procedure

GMC Cosmedical offers a range of skin peel treatments, including medical grade chemical peels and advanced laser peels, to support skin renewal and help improve the appearance of uneven skin tone, pigmentation, texture, sun damage and early signs of ageing. All treatments are performed in clinic by a qualified practitioner.

Each peel works differently and involves a different level of recovery. Your practitioner will recommend the most appropriate peel, depth and strength based on your skin type, concerns, goals and available downtime following a professional assessment.

In accordance with Australian regulations, specific treatment details will be discussed during your consultation.

  • Results: Individual outcomes vary and will be discussed with your practitioner during consultation. A series of treatments may be recommended depending on your skin condition and goals.
  • Downtime: Varies significantly depending on the type and depth of peel, ranging from a few hours of temporary redness to several days of healing. Your practitioner will advise what to expect based on your individual circumstances.
  • Discomfort: Sensations vary between individuals and treatments. Comfort options will be discussed with your practitioner prior to treatment.

Treatment Options

  • 1. Chemical Peels

Chemical peels use medical grade peeling agents to support skin renewal, with peel type and strength customised following professional assessment.

    • May be considered for acne scarring, active acne, uneven pigmentation, sun damage and early signs of ageing
    • Treatment areas include the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders, arms and legs
    • Downtime varies depending on the depth of the peel. Significant peeling and shedding of the skin can be expected
  • 2. Sciton Profile Laser Peel

An advanced laser resurfacing treatment designed to refresh and smooth the skin, with treatment depth tailored to your concerns and available downtime.

    • May be considered for coarse, sun damaged or dry skin texture, pigmented lesions, fine lines and uneven skin tone
    • Lighter peels typically require one to two days of healing, while deeper resurfacing may require around ten days
    • Mild redness or pinkness may persist, and your practitioner will advise on aftercare accordingly
  • 3. Angel Brightening Laser Peel

A non-ablative, non-invasive laser peel that uses customisable laser wavelengths to target pigment cells using ultra short pulses.

    • May be considered for pigmentation, uneven skin tone or skin texture
    • May be suitable for a wide range of skin types, including those prone to pigmentation
    • Most people experience temporary redness for one to two hours. Sensations are often described as warm or prickly, and a topical anaesthetic is available if required

What To Expect

  • 1. Brighter, More Even Skin Tone

Skin peels may assist in improving the appearance of uneven tone and pigmentation. Chemical peels use carefully selected medical grade peeling agents to support skin renewal, while the Angel Brightening Laser Peel uses controlled laser energy to target areas of pigmentation, aiming to support a clearer and more even skin tone over time.

  • 2. Smoother, More Refined Skin Texture

By encouraging exfoliation and resurfacing at varying depths, skin peels may help improve the appearance of coarse, sun damaged or uneven skin texture, promoting a refreshed and more refined-looking complexion over a course of treatments.

  • 3. Reduced Appearance of Fine Lines & Early Signs of Ageing

Treatments such as the Sciton Profile Laser Peel and chemical peels may help reduce the visible appearance of pigmented lesions, fine lines and early signs of ageing, contributing to a more even skin tone and improved overall skin condition.

  • 4. Tailored to Your Skin

Peel type, depth, strength and laser settings are customised following professional assessment, allowing treatment to be aligned with your skin type, individual concerns, goals and available downtime.
